In an interview with Juggun Kazim and Ahsan Khan on Thursday, actor Hiba Qadir opened up about her struggles with motherhood. "I once did a role of a mother in a drama serial. But being one in real life is completely different. It's very, very difficult. It feels as if it's setting your personality back. I don't even remember myself," she said.
Hiba shared that now she hardly pays attention to looking presentable beyond her obligations, focusing instead on her daughter Aynur's wellbeing. "I want her to be safe and comfortable. I want to make sure that her routine and the schedule she's following don't get disturbed," the actor added.
Hiba and actor-husband Arez Ahmed celebrated two months with their little one in an Instagram post shared in December. "This year changed our lives in such a beautiful way that is really not possible for me to articulate. Here's to celebrating your second month," Hiba wrote. "Your presence is the purest form of love that we've felt. We thank Allah for blessing us with our little angel. You are the light in our lives. We have named you 'Aynur', which means 'moonlight'."
In October last year, the Jaan Nisar actor stunned fans with a public show of her pregnancy without addressing it prior to the appearance. The act was met with mixed reviews from netizens, some of whom deemed it an indecent gesture.
The actor later took to her YouTube channel alongside her spouse to offer some clarity in a vlog. "This news has been circulating for quite some time, and we felt that it needed to be addressed. People deserve to hear it from us rather than anyone else," Arez said.
While the no-nonsense title of the video was sufficiently informative, Hiba still felt the need to share some context. "Since I've been very busy completing my shoots and getting through other commitments, we planned to do a grand reveal of the pregnancy on YouTube and even on Instagram later on," said the Fitoor actor.
"Gone are the days when it would be a big thing if a heroine got pregnant. We all work now. I think it's amazing to work while carrying a pregnancy. If you can, you definitely should," she added. "I tend to keep my life private, so we had our own plans with the revelation, of course. But divine intervention is its own force. We can't challenge that, and that's fine."
