A man has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting the administrator of a community WhatsApp group who removed him from the chat, Express News reported.

Mushtaq Ahmed was shot dead on Thursday evening in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. A suspect identified as Ashfaq has been charged with his murder, according to police documents.

According to a statement from Mushtaq’s brother, the dispute began when Mushtaq removed Ashfaq from the WhatsApp group following an argument. The two had agreed to meet and reconcile, but Ashfaq allegedly arrived armed and opened fire, killing Mushtaq.

Ashfaq was angry “in reaction to removal from WhatsApp group,” the statement read. Police have launched an investigation into the case.
