Travis Scott’s intense WWE debut at Elimination Chamber 2025 is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The rapper, who joined John Cena and The Rock in a dramatic beatdown on Cody Rhodes, is now facing backlash after reports surfaced that his actions may have left Rhodes with serious injuries.
During a broadcast of Wrestling Observer Radio, journalist Dave Meltzer claimed that Scott’s slap across Rhodes’ face and ear allegedly resulted in a busted eardrum and a black eye.
“Cody got hurt,” Meltzer said. “I’m pretty sure it was Travis Scott that did it. I’ve heard he had a busted eardrum and a black eye.”
The incident has sparked debate online, with many questioning whether Scott knew wrestling was scripted. In viral footage circulating online, Scott can be seen grabbing Rhodes by the neck before winding up his arm and delivering a hard strike to his face.

Despite the controversy, The Rock praised Scott’s enthusiasm, revealing that he encouraged the rapper to fully embrace the moment.
“He wanted to get, to steal a term, he wanted to get his hands bloody,” The Rock said during a post-match press conference. “I whispered to him as we were going out, ‘if you get your hands bloody, make it count. Make it count.’ He slapped the sh*t out of Cody. He was really hyped up.”
Scott has yet to respond to the backlash, but his WWE cameo has certainly left a lasting impact—whether for better or worse remains up for debate.
