LeBron James made history as the Lakers beat the Pelicans 136-115, with Luka Dončić and James combining for 64 points.

Los Angeles Lakers secured a 136-115 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.

LeBronJames finished with 34 points, six assists and eight rebounds, while Luka Dončić added 30 points, 15 assists and eight rebounds.

Lakers take early command

New Orleans responded in the second quarter with an 8-0 run, led by two three-pointers from Jordan Hawkins. A 12-2 scoring stretch briefly brought the Pelicans within one possession before the Lakers regained momentum.

Hayes capitalised on fast-break opportunities, and Dončić’s three-pointer helped Los Angeles take a 10-point lead into halftime.

James and Dončić dominate second half

He sank his fifth three-pointer of the night, while Vanderbilt’s defensive pressure created scoring chances for Los Angeles.

James converted free throws and connected on a lob dunk, extending the lead to 15 points.

The Lakers remained in control in the fourth quarter, despite a strong effort from Williamson. With less than four minutes remaining, both teams cleared their benches as Los Angeles secured the victory.

James reaches historic milestone
