Popular streamer Kaitlyn Siragusa, known as Amouranth, suffered a violent home invasion in Houston on March 2, where armed attackers demanded cryptocurrency. She shared a chilling account of the incident on X (formerly Twitter), revealing the brutality of the attack.
"I'm being too robbed at gunpoint. I believe I shot one of them. They wanted crypto is what they were yelling they pulled me out of bed," Amouranth posted on X.

Describing the attack in more detail, she wrote, "Three gunmen. He screams 'I got shot I got shot' after. I'm not supposed to post the scene itself, nor the casing, which are now evidence. They beat me before this video and pistol-whipped me".

She later explained why she tweeted instead of calling emergency services, saying, "They gave me my phone and said log in with a gun to my head. Calling would be a death sentence."

Security experts warn that high-profile crypto holders are at increasing risk due to bitcoin's rising value. Jameson Lopp, Chief Security Officer at CASA, noted that criminals are becoming more aware of crypto wealth and targeting individuals who publicly display their holdings.
In late 2024, Amouranth posted a screenshot of her Coinbase account showing over $20 million in BTC and ETH, asking, "Do I sell or hold my BTC?" This public post may have made her a target.
