Saudi health ministry issues guidelines for Umrah pilgrims
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has issued guidelines for Umrah pilgrims, urging them to get vaccinated before traveling to protect against infectious diseases.
The ministry emphasised that pilgrims must receive the meningitis vaccine at least 10 days before their journey, as it significantly reduces the risk of infection.
Authorities have also recommended vaccinations against seasonal flu and influenza, particularly for elderly and chronically ill individuals. The ministry advised them to complete their vaccinations at least two weeks before departure.
“Get vaccinated to stay healthy and perform Umrah with ease and focus,” the ministry stated.
Additionally, the ministry has launched a public health campaign titled ‘Healthy Living’ to promote overall well-being among residents and visitors.
