RAWALPINDI:

The district administration has approved the registration of all wedding halls and marquees across all six districts of the division as well as the imposition of a 5% tax on property dealers. The applications for setting up nine new petrol pumps were also approved.

A meeting of the revenue department was held at the Deputy Commissioner's Office Rawalpindi, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Hassan Tariq, where various matters were discussed. Officers from relevant departments participated in the meeting.

It was decided that all wedding halls would be fully registered with the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) to address legal and environmental issues. Steps will be taken to resolve tax-related issues concerning wedding halls.

During the meeting, it was also decided that tour operators and property dealers would be registered with the PERA to ensure transparency in these sectors. The meeting also decided to set a 5% tax rate for property dealers, which is expected to increase revenue.

In another meeting, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Hassan Tariq, the district petrol pump committee reviewed the No Objection Certificate (NOC) cases for petrol pumps across the district. A total of 17 cases were presented, of which eight were granted NOCs after completing all formalities.

For the remaining nine cases, concerns were addressed and cases were instructed to be resubmitted. The ADCG instructed that these cases should be resubmitted with the recommendations of the ACs of the relevant tehsils for further review.
