
A six-month-old infant has tested positive for the polio virus in a village in the Ghora Bari area of Thatta district, bringing the country's total to six cases in the first two months of the year. The National Institute of Health's (NIH) Regional Reference Laboratory confirmed the case in its latest report.
Dr Sajid Shaikh of the Rural Health Center told the media that the suspected case was brought to him on January 11. According to him, both legs of six-month-old Rizwan, son of Ali Dino Chandio, appeared to be affected by the virus.
