Maulana Rashid ul-Haq becomes Darul Uloom Haqqania's deputy head

Thousands attended the funeral of Maulana Hamid ul-Haq as Maulana Rashid ul-Haq was appointed his successor.

Maulana Rashid ul-Haq has been appointed as the new deputy head of Darul Uloom Haqqania, following the martyrdom of his brother, Maulana Hamid ul-Haq.

The decision was made during a gathering held at Darul Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak, which included thousands of scholars, political figures, and members of the public who attended the funeral of Maulana Hameed ul-Haq, Ex press News reported.

Maulana Rashid ul-Haq’s appointment was announced by Maulana Irfan ul-Haq Haqqani, who spoke on behalf of the Haqqania family and the scholars of Darul Uloom Haqqania.

The decision was made by unanimous consensus, with the gathering showing overwhelming support for the new deputy head.

During the funeral, Maulana Irfan ul-Haq raised his hands in prayer and confirmed Maulana Rashid ul-Haq’s position as the deputy head of Darul Uloom Haqqania.

At the same time, he expressed support for Maulana Abdul Haq Sani, declaring him the political successor of his martyr father, Maulana Hameed ul-Haq.

In his speech at the funeral, Maulana Rashid ul-Haq expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and solidarity from the community, emphasising the legacy of his father and brother in the fight for the country’s welfare.

He pledged to continue their mission and said, "This country is ours, and our ancestors sacrificed their lives for its preservation."

Maulana Abdul Haq Sani, speaking at the funeral, assured the gathering that the Haqqania family would never leave the path of truth. He added, "We will not be deterred by bombs, attacks, or threats. As long as there is a member of the Haqqania family, we will continue the mission of Maulana Sami ul-Haq and never compromise on the teachings of Islam."

Following the funeral, the martyrdom of Maulana Hameed ul-Haq was honoured, and he was buried beside his father, Maulana Sami ul-Haq, in a final tribute to their shared commitment to Islam and the nation.

A large number of people, including Afghan Consul General, attended the funeral of Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani - chief of the (JUI-S) - who was martyred in a suicide blast at the Darul Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak area of Nowshera district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

The bombing, which occurred after Friday prayers, killed Maulana Hamidul-Haq Haqqani and others.

Following the tragic incident, a large crowd gathered at the madrassa, where Maulana Hamid al-Haq’s funeral prayers were led by his son, Maulana Sahibzada Abdul Haq Sani.
