Mark Zuckerberg steals the spotlight at Priscilla Chan’s 40th birthday with Benson Boone cosplay performance  

Mark Zuckerberg made headlines once again, but this time it wasn’t for a tech innovation or a business move. Instead, the billionaire stole the show at his wife Priscilla Chan’s lavish 40th birthday celebration with an unexpected and bizarre performance that left everyone talking.  

The Facebook founder surprised his wife by channeling his inner pop star, donning a sparkly-blue jumpsuit reminiscent of singer-songwriter Benson Boone’s iconic Grammy performance earlier this month.

Zuckerberg’s over-the-top act included ripping off a snazzy tuxedo to reveal the skin-tight outfit underneath, much to the amusement of the birthday girl and their guests.  

“Your wife only turns 40 once!” Zuckerberg captioned a video of the performance on Instagram. “Shoutout to @bensonboone for the jumpsuit and new single.”  

The birthday bash, held over the weekend, was nothing short of extravagant. Priscilla Chan dazzled in five luxurious outfit changes, while a decadent cake shaped like a silver champagne bucket took center stage. The cake, personalized with “Priscilla” and “Vintage 1985,” was a nod to her birth year.  

Despite the opulent celebration, it was Zuckerberg’s surprise performance that became the talk of the night. The tech CEO seemingly studied Boone’s Grammy performance of “Beautiful Things,” mimicking the artist’s moves and even jumping off a piano during his act. Though he opted out of Boone’s signature backflip, Zuckerberg’s enthusiasm was undeniable.  

Priscilla, dressed in a black gown and silky-beige shawl, was seen hysterically laughing at her husband’s antics. Guests, including women in gowns and men in tuxedos, clapped and cheered as Zuckerberg belted out his performance with the help of a live band.  

While many praised Zuckerberg for being “committed to the bit,” others questioned his decision to make the celebration about himself.

“A woman’s celebration and you made it about you, the husband…” one critic wrote. Another added, “Why is he making himself the star of the show on his wife’s birthday? Be a gentleman, Zuck.”  

The performance also reignited speculation about Zuckerberg’s recent behavior, with some joking that it was part of his “midlife crisis.”

In recent months, the billionaire has traded his signature hoodies for designer chains, shearling coats, and a new curly hairstyle, sparking both admiration and ridicule online.  

Priscilla also took to Instagram to share moments from the night, captioning her post, “Turned forty surrounded by family, friends, laughter, and dance. I am so so lucky to be so loved.”  

The couple, who met as undergraduates at Harvard in 2003 and married in 2012, celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary last year. While Zuckerberg’s birthday surprise may have been unconventional, it certainly made Priscilla’s milestone celebration one to remember.
