Mummy Pig, a central character in the popular children's TV show Peppa Pig, has announced she is expecting her third child. The news was revealed during an interview on Good Morning Britain, where the character, voiced by Morwenna Banks, shared her excitement.
“I’m thrilled to share that our family is growing—we’re having another baby,” Mummy Pig said. “I’m due in the summer, and we can’t wait.”
The long-running animated series previously teased the addition of a new family member in a social media post where Mummy Pig reflected on her early days of motherhood. The upcoming episode, set to air on March 30—coinciding with Mother’s Day in the UK—will formally introduce the storyline to audiences.
Reactions to Mummy Pig’s pregnancy announcement have been mixed, with some fans expressing excitement while others found humor in the media coverage of a fictional character’s news.
Social media quickly filled with jokes, including users playfully calling Peppa a “pig-me” for interrupting her mother’s announcement. However, many were baffled by the attention given to the storyline, with some questioning why an animated character’s pregnancy was being treated as real. One user joked, “I thought it was an influencer,” while another remarked, “We’ve officially lost the plot as a nation.”
