The internet may debate whether or not Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor is a red flag or a green flag, but his star-wife Alia Bhatt certainly sees him as the latter. Recently, the Gangubai Kathiawadi actor liked an Instagram post shared on Sunday in defence of her husband.
"Funny how jealous people always call him a red flag, womaniser, mumma's boy, etc. But Ranbir Kapoor literally included his wife and daughter's initials in his brand's name. If this is a red flag, then I guess it's better than every so-called 'green flag' on the internet," the post read, referring to the Animal actor's lifestyle brand ARKS.
Ranbir launched ARKS earlier in February with the grand opening of its first retail store in Bandra, Mumbai, as per Hindustan Times. In celebration, Alia promoted the brand in an Instagram post. The thread spotlighted a cap sporting the embroidered logo and also featured picturesque shots of the actor's white, Persian cat. "Can literally now walk a mile in your shoes," she wrote. "ARKS is here! Congratulations, baby. Your dream is live!"
In the past, Alia's support for her husband hasn't been received well by the internet. "I've been accused of talking too much about Ranbir," she said in an interview on the eighth season of Koffee With Karan.
Agreeing that the vitriol might be intense because her husband is not on social media, Alia continued, "I have a very candid way of speaking, and even when I'm talking about something in my life, I like to imitate the person I'm talking about. I like to give anecdotes, I like to make it personal and I feel like a lot of the things just get picked out of context."
In 2023, Ranbir attracted criticism after Alia casually revealed in a Vogue India Beauty Secrets video that he would tell her to wipe off her lipstick. In October that year, Ranbir addressed the vitriol, which was sparked after the video went viral, during a live fan interaction.
"You know, sometimes a lot of things are written about you as an actor, a lot of opinions are made, which are not necessarily true. You take it with a pinch of salt, because this image of mine, which has been created by the movies or the characters I play or by the media, is something that I don't own," he said, as per Hindustan Times.
The couple tied the knot at their Mumbai home in 2022. Later that year, they welcomed their daughter, Raha Kapoor.
