Marital struggles and lifestyle differences

Reports indicate that Govinda and Sunita’s contrasting lifestyle choices have created a growing distance between them. According to Bollywood Now, Govinda’s alleged relationship with a Marathi actress has been a significant factor in their separation.

In a recent interview with Hindi Rush, Sunita Ahuja shed light on their current living situation, revealing that they primarily reside in separate homes. She explained that Govinda often stays at his bungalow, while she and their children live in a separate apartment.

"We have two houses—our bungalow is just opposite our apartment. I live in the flat with my children, while Govinda stays at the bungalow because he gets late after meetings and gatherings. He loves talking and socializing, often sitting with 10 people and chatting for hours," she shared.

Sunita’s take on their relationship

Reflecting on their marriage, Sunita playfully remarked on Govinda’s lack of romantic gestures.

"I’ve told him that in my next life, he should not be my husband. He doesn’t take holidays. I love going out, eating street food, and enjoying simple pleasures, but he is always busy with work. I don’t even recall a single instance when we went out to watch a movie together," she said.

A marriage kept secret

Govinda and Sunita tied the knot in March 1987 but kept their marriage a secret for over a year. They made their relationship public only after welcoming their daughter, Tina, in 1988. The couple later had a son, Yashvardhan, in 1997.
