The much-anticipated India vs Pakistan clash yesterday saw India dominate their rivals comprehensively. In doing so, they all but eliminated Pakistan from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The disappointment among Pakistanis and its cricketing fraternity was evident. Cricketer-turned pundit Shoaib Malik expressed his emotions in a unique way—by singing Dil Ke Arman Ansuon Men Bah Gaye from the film Nikaah.

A video shared by ex-Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar on social media showed Malik responding to the match result with the song when asked about Pakistan’s performance. Fellow former cricketer Mohammad Hafeez, also present in the video, reacted with a remorseful smile.

“Today’s state of affairs explained by Shoaib Malik,” Akhtar captioned the post, which quickly gained traction on social media.

Shoaib Malik's criticism of Pakistani team

Malik was also very strong in his criticism of Pakistan's national team, questioning the team's mindset after the defeat to India. "Our players have 0 international exposure," said Malik. "As a nation, we look for a shoulder (for support)."

Malik used the example of Pakistan's middle-overs when discussing his criticism of individuals not taking responsibility within the team.
