As the much-anticipated India-Pakistan showdown approaches in the Champions Trophy 2025, both teams head into the match with different fortunes.

India, having won their opening game against Bangladesh, will be looking to build on their performance, though their bowling attack will need improvement. Pakistan, in contrast, face a must-win situation after defeat against New Zealand.

Ahead of the clash at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, the weather conditions are expected to be hot with a temperature of 32°C and a mild wind of 15 km/h. The chance of rain is minimal, at just 1%, which is a relief for fans.

The pitch at Dubai is known to become more favourable for batting as the match progresses into the evening, though it is likely to slow down, making chasing a challenging task.

In the earlier India-Bangladesh match, chasing 229 runs proved difficult as the surface slowed down. Teams batting first will have an advantage, with the best time to bat likely to be in the initial innings.

Spinners are expected to play a significant role in the second innings as the ball softens. The large playing area means that batters will have to rely on their ability to rotate the strike rather than hitting for boundaries.

With the conditions in mind, the captain winning the toss is likely to choose to bat first to put the opposition under pressure and make use of the better pitch conditions early on.
