PESHAWAR:

Advisor to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has said that lasting peace would be established in the Kurram tribal district of the province and terrorists would be dealt with an iron hand.

Saif on Saturday met delegations from the Kurram tribal district at his office in Peshawar.

The meetings focused on the law and order situation in the troubled Kurram district, with detailed discussions on the matter.

Both delegations apprised Barrister Saif of their concerns and requested strict action against terrorists.

They reaffirmed their commitment to fully implementing the peace agreement and pledged complete cooperation with security forces and the government to establish lasting peace.

The delegations stated that terrorist elements were the enemies of peace in Kurram and that the government should eliminate them, adding that the unrest had affected educational, commercial and other economic and social activities in the area.

Saif appealed to both delegations to play a key role in restoring peace, saying that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was sincerely working towards a lasting solution to the decades-old conflict.
