Two robbers killed, Dolphin Force officer martyred

In an exchange of gunfire in the Saddar area, two wanted robbers and a Dolphin Force officer were killed, while another officer sustained injuries on Saturday.
The deceased criminals were identified as members of the infamous Gulfam Shah Gang, known for their involvement in numerous criminal cases.
Police said Dolphin Force personnelincluding officers Asif Bhatti, Zahoor Ahmed, Husnain and Naseer, were patrolling in the Khanuana area when they spotted two armed suspects on a motorcycle near Bypass Chowk on Satiana Road. When signalled to stop, the suspects opened fire on the officers.
As a result, Asif Bhatti and Zahoor Ahmed were critically wounded, while their fellow officers, Husnain and Naseer, engaged the attackers in a gunfight.
During the encounter, both suspects Bilal alias Bali Gujjar and Imran alias Mani Mota, residents of 237-RB Khaddian Waraichan were killed on the spot. The injured officers were rushed to the hospital in a private vehicle, where Asif Bhatti succumbed to his injuries, attaining martyrdom.
His fellow officer, Zahoor Ahmed, remains in critical condition. Police officials confirmed that Bhatti suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen, while Zahoor was hit in the legs.
Upon receiving news of the encounter, senior police officials, including Regional Police Officer Zeeshan Asghar, City Police Officer Sahibzada Bilal Umar, SSP Investigation Rana Abdul Wahab, SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehboob, and SP Iqbal Town Abid Hussain Zafar, arrived at the scene.
The bodies of the slain robbers and the martyred officer were shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem examination.
