Six terrorists were killed on Friday in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by security forces in the Karak District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing announced.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that the operation was launched following reports of the presence of “khwarij”, a term used to refer to extremist militants.
The security forces engaged the militants’ location, resulting in the deaths of six terrorists, according to the ISPR.
The military added that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to eliminate remaining terrorist elements in the region. "The sanitization operation continues to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining threats," the statement read.
ISPR further highlighted that the sacrifices of the soldiers involved in the operation bolster Pakistan’s commitment to ridding the country of terrorism and ensuring peace and stability.
