Karachi has been under a blanket of clouds since this morning, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicting a chance of rain later in the day.

The city experienced cooler temperatures overnight, with Thursday night being noticeably chillier compared to previous days, Express News reported.

As of this morning, the skies remained overcast, with the effects of a western weather system entering the country from Balochistan starting to be felt in the city.

Temperatures in Karachi have dropped by 1.5 degrees Celsius, recording a low of 18°C today compared to yesterday. The weather is expected to remain cloudy throughout the day, with light showers or drizzle possible in various areas of the city during the evening and night.

Meteorologists have warned that residents can expect partial to complete cloud cover, with potential for light rain or drizzle in the coming hours.

Yesterday, rain was expected to continue in Lahore and various regions of Punjab, as the weather system responsible for the downpour remains active.

Since last evening, intermittent rainfall has been occurring across the province, with cooler temperatures following the rain.

The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has stated that the rainfall, after five months, in Rawalpindi and Islamabad will help end the drought.

The Meteorological Department reports that temperatures have slightly dropped across Punjab after the rain, with snowfall expected in the hilly areas.

Areas including Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Taunsa Sharif, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Okara, and Bahawalnagar are likely to experience rainfall today.

In Lahore, the minimum temperature has been recorded at 11°C, with a high of up to 22°C expected.
