Denise Richards admitted she initially did not understand why her daughter Sami Sheen joined OnlyFans but later defended her choice. In an interview published by People on February 19, Richards, 54, said she was surprised when Sami, now 20, created her account in June 2022, just months after turning 18. However, she later supported her daughter, stating she was upset by the backlash Sami received for “owning her sexuality and doing what she wanted to do.”
Sami revealed she joined OnlyFans to afford her own apartment, acknowledging that her job at a candy store was not financially viable. She set her subscription price at $19.99 per month and promoted her content through social media. Her decision quickly became a topic of public discussion, especially after her father, Charlie Sheen, voiced his concerns. He told E! News in June 2022 that he did not condone it but urged Sami to maintain her integrity. Richards responded by emphasizing that her daughter was an adult capable of making her own choices.
Seeing the controversy surrounding her daughter’s account, Richards decided to explore OnlyFans herself, launching her own profile in July 2022. She later described the venture as “quite lucrative.” According to an exclusive In Touch report from March 2024, she was reportedly earning $2 million per month from the platform, while Sami was making around $80,000 monthly.
In July 2023, Sami referred to herself as a "sex worker" in a TikTok video, prompting backlash. She later clarified that she does not engage in explicit content or meet with people but enjoys the work. Despite criticism, Sami has remained firm in her choices, documenting her journey, including her November 2023 breast enhancement surgery, with confidence.
