KARACHI:

The main suspect in the murder of Mustafa Amir is said to have made a series of explosive revelations during interrogation.

Armughan, who has a previous criminal history, remains at the centre of the probe as police uncover more details about his activities.

According to police records, Armughan has been implicated in several serious crimes since 2019, including terrorism, attempted murder, narcotics trafficking, and extortion. Over the years, he has faced charges in several police stations, including Darakhshan, Sahil, Gizri, Boat Basin, and ANF.

During questioning in the remand room, Armughan confessed to taking measures to cover his tracks before his arrest. He admitted to deleting all data from the laptops at his home, hindering investigators' ability to retrieve critical evidence. Armughan further revealed that he personally drove the car from Khyaban-e-Momin in DHA to the Daraji area in Balochistan, where Mustafa Amir's body was disposed of.

It has also come to light that Armughan had been running an illegal software house and call centre from his home in Gizri. This illicit operation allegedly defrauded foreign clients of millions of dollars over the years. He also set up several digital currency accounts, which were used for money laundering.

Armughan resisted arrest for several hours, attempting to prevent police from reaching the laptops he had wiped clean.
