
Celebrity hairstylist Graham Nation, whose real name was Graham Cheek, passed away on February 14 at a gym in Los Angeles.
The L.A. County Department of Medical Examiner confirmed his death, with the cause still pending further investigation.
News of his passing sparked an outpouring of tributes from friends, colleagues, and celebrity clients. Makeup artist Katrina Klein called him "one of the greatest, most supportive friends," while LA-based barber Sofie Pok described his loss as "unreal."
Nation’s partner, celebrity makeup artist Tonya Brewer, and their son, Romeo West, born in August 2024, survive him. The couple had announced their pregnancy in May 2024, a moment that brought joy to their family and friends.
Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Nation built a successful career after graduating from the Aveda Institute. He styled high-profile clients like Victoria Beckham, George Clooney, and Mary J. Blige. His work appeared in top fashion magazines such as Vogue and Elle, and he collaborated with brands like Louis Vuitton and Saint Laurent.
Represented by The Wall Group, Nation was remembered as "a one-of-a-kind soul who impacted every single person he met." His artistry and warmth left a lasting impression across the fashion and entertainment industries.
