Last week, the newly upgraded National Bank Stadium in Karachi was officially inaugurated , following extensive renovations in preparation for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Pakistan Chairman Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, and MQM-P Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
The occasion celebrated a remarkable achievement: the completion of the stadium’s overhaul in just 120 days.
As part of the festivities, the PCB organised a grand opening ceremony featuring live music, a spectacular fireworks display, and a captivating light show, all with free entry for the public.
Renowned artists Ali Zafar, Shafqat Amanat Ali, and Sahir Ali Bagga performed for the crowd, followed by an impressive drum and fireworks display, while a unique light show illuminated the night.
