Rumours are swirling about Johnny Depp reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6, as new reports suggest Disney is moving forward with the next installment. While nothing has been officially confirmed, sources indicate that production could begin soon.
Depp portrayed Jack Sparrow across five films, playing a crucial role in the franchise’s $4.5 billion box office success. However, Disney severed ties with the actor amid his legal battle with Amber Heard. Following Depp’s courtroom victory, speculation about his return has grown.
According to The DisInsider, Disney is reportedly preparing to start production at a Hollywood sound stage. The site claims that Depp is expected to return, though no official details about the cast or filming timeline have been announced.
Franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer previously revealed that two scripts were in development. “Jeff Nathanson is working on a script. We have another one… We have two, and we don’t know who’s gonna win the horse race at this point. But hopefully, in the next month, I’ll have a script, and maybe Disney will want to make it,” Bruckheimer said.
Disney previously also explored a Pirates reboot starring Margot Robbie.
With no confirmed updates on Depp’s involvement, fans eagerly await an official announcement about Pirates of the Caribbean 6.
