Who needs four years of college and tens of thousands of dollars worth of debt when you can get a crash course on how to conquer the internet from the man himself? Kai Cenat.
Twitch’s reigning superstar, just dropped some major news: he's launching his very own “streaming university” – a weekend-long boot camp designed to teach aspiring creators how to make it big in the world of live streaming.
During his February 13 stream, Cenat laid out his big plans, telling his audience, “I’m going to rent out a university over the course of a weekend. It will be streaming university. Okay? I’m going to rent it out,” adding that he’ll be opening up enrollment to anyone, whether you’re a seasoned streamer or a newbie trying to break into the scene.
“I’m going to put out enrolls and applications of people to enroll into the university, no matter if you’re big, no matter if you’re a small streamer, you can stream the entire weekend,” he explained.
But don’t expect to just show up and log in for class. This is no ordinary university – Kai Cenat is going all out.
Picture dorms, influencer-led courses, and, of course, the man himself playing the role of the principal. The kicker? Some of the biggest names in streaming will be guest professors, helping to give the students an inside look into what it takes to make it big.
“In terms of the classes and sht, for example, I would love to do some sht where, science, Mark Rober is the professor for that day, and he’s doing crazy experiments for everybody’s stream,” Cenat shared during the stream.
“Say there is a financial class, MrBeast in that motherf**ker.”
Sounds like a dream for anyone looking to level up their streaming game, right?
But before you get too excited, note that not everyone will make the cut. While the program is open to anyone, admission isn’t guaranteed, and those who don’t get in on the first round will have the chance to try again next semester, as Cenat himself confirmed.
Naturally, the internet’s reaction has been, well, mixed. Some fans are stoked for the chance to learn from the guy who’s practically written the book on going viral.
One user tweeted, “Two-day crash course on how to break the internet and your sleep schedule... . . .” (classic Kai). But not everyone is convinced. Another commenter quipped, “So just a more expensive clown college?” As fun as that might sound, it’s clear this “university” is no joke.
Kai Cenat has become a dominant force in the streaming world, attracting millions of viewers to his record-breaking streams on both Twitch and YouTube.
At just 23, he ranked No. 24 on Forbes's list of the top-earning creators of 2024, with an estimated $8.5 million in earnings. His growth has been nothing short of meteoric, as live streaming itself continues to boom, with 8.5 billion hours of content watched in Q4 of 2024, marking a 12% year-over-year growth, according to marketing firm Stream Hatchet.
With his massive success and influence, Cenat is setting the stage for a new wave of creators to learn the ropes.
Whether his “Streaming University” will live up to the hype or go down as the most epic internet flex ever remains to be seen – but one thing’s for sure: if you want to learn how to break the internet, this might just be the place to do it.
