QUETTA:

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Monday directed the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) to find a permanent solution to the electricity problems being faced by the people of the province and take concrete steps to improve power transmission.

He said that adopting alternative sources of energy in the agricultural sector was the need of the hour so that the difficulties being faced by farmers were reduced and agricultural production increased.

He expressed these views while talking to QESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Syed Yousuf Shah who called on him here.

On the occasion, Syed Yousuf Shah gave a detailed briefing to the Balochistan Chief Minister on the challenges being faced in the electricity transmission system and the steps being taken to resolve them.

The Chief Minister said that, before the arrival of the summer, electricity shortages and problems in the province's hot areas should be adequately addressed so that people do not face any problems.

He also directed the QESCO administration to formulate a comprehensive and clear strategy to provide people relief from electricity-related problems and to implement it quickly.

He said that the proposal of the members of the provincial assembly and the pace of work on the proposed electricity schemes should be accelerated so that people could benefit from them as soon as possible.

He also emphasized that uninterrupted power supply should be ensured in the areas where people were paying their electricity bills so that the consumers don't face any problems.
