
The Jamaat-e-Islami, Karachi, has moved the Sindh High Court (SHC), on Monday, against the Pakistan People Party (PPP) government over rising number of fatal traffic accidents involving dumpers, tankers and other heavy traffic.
The petition demanded implementation on the 10pm to 6am timings of heavy traffic in the city, compensation for victim families, audit of the expenditure on roads network and constitution of a permanent monitoring and management system for heavy traffic.
JI Karachi Ameer held a press briefing after filing the petition at the high court and said that the JI would raise the issue at all available forums and called for 10 major protest demonstrations in the mega city to be held on February 21.
