
Karachi District South edged past Karachi Malir District by 68-59 points to win the boys basketball title while Bahria Club triumphed over Dow Club with a score of 18-14 points to clinch the girls basketball title in the Kashmir Day Rangers Cup Basketball Tournament that concluded at International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court, Aram Bagh on Sunday night.
The chief guest at the final was Lieutenant Colonel Amanullah Faiz who distributed the prizes among the winners and runner-up teams. He was accompanied by Asad Shakir as well as other military and civil officers.
In the boys final, Nabeel Ahmed (20 points), Haris Shahid (18 points) and Muaz Ashraf (18 points) excelled on the court for Karachi District South while for the losing side Karachi Malir District, Daniyal Khan Marwat (17 points), Abdullah Khan (15 points) and Hassan Ali (14 points) were the outstanding performers.
In the girls final, notable performances came from Dua Batool, Fiza Khan, Raheema Khan, Umaima Baig, Fiza Khan and Hafsa Khan.
KBA President Barrister Ghulam Abbas Jamal Chaudhry honoured Rangers officers and other distinguished guests with the Shahida Parveen Kayani Award for their dedicated service to sports on behalf of the Kashmiri people.
Also present on the occasion were Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Ghulam Abbas Jamal Advocate, Sheikh Aqil Ahmed, Kaleem Awan, Sheikh Shakeel, Haider Khan, Khurshid Alam, Khalid Rahmani, Dr. Nighat Aqil, Nasir Hussain Khan**, and several others.
The tournament was organized by 31 Wing Abdullah Shah Ghazi Rangers and Karachi Basketball Association with the support of Engineering Solution Company and Aram Bagh Alliance of Markets Association.
