Simone Inzaghi’s side entered Sunday’s clash knowing that a win would see them finish the matchday at the summit for the first time since September, following Napoli’s 2-2 draw at Lazio.

However, Francisco Conceicao’s second-half goal proved decisive, leaving Inter two points behind the reigning champions.

The match was tightly contested, with both teams creating chances.

Juventus came closest in the first half when Randal Kolo Muani’s quick footwork inside the box opened up space before he set up Conceicao, who fired home in the 74th minute.

Inter had earlier been denied by goalkeeper Michele di Gregorio, who pushed Marcus Thuram’s first-time effort onto the post.

Denzel Dumfries also made a crucial goalline clearance to keep Inter in the game.

Despite late pressure from the visitors, Juventus held firm to secure their third consecutive league victory.

The result lifts them back into the top four on goal difference, level with Lazio, while Atalanta sit three points behind in third after a goalless draw against Cagliari.

Inter, who have now lost two of their last three matches, will look to recover quickly as they continue their pursuit of the title.

Meanwhile, Juventus will shift focus to their Champions League campaign, aiming to advance past PSV Eindhoven after a 2-1 first-leg win in their knockout play-off.
