Bollywood dancer and actress Rakhi Sawant has declined Pakistani religious scholar Mufti Abdul Qavi’s marriage proposal, saying he would not be able to handle her.

Rakhi, who has been in the news due to Mufti Qavi’s conditional wish to marry her expressed during a podcast, responded humorously.

She had previously asked Qavi to recite poetry for her.

Speaking to a private channel, Rakhi said, “I am not serious about marrying Mufti Qavi. I don’t know if he has 100 wives or 900, but I alone am equal to 100,000 women, and he wouldn’t be able to handle me.”

The actress added that she is still searching for true love, which she has not found in India yet.

“Many men chase me, but they only want to use me as a stepping stone,” she said.

On being asked about visiting Pakistan, Rakhi replied, “If Modi can visit Pakistan, why can’t I? When a couple agrees, what can the Qazi do?”

Rakhi also praised Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, calling her a ‘good and decent girl.’

Earlier, Mufti Qavi claimed in a programme that his wedding with Rakhi Sawant was set for 14 February, adding that he had invited the show’s host to attend the ceremony as a witness.

Mufti Qavi revealed that the date was chosen by Rakhi herself. “Our nikkah is happening on February 14,” he said, confirming that Rakhi had personally suggested the date.

He said that after the wedding, Rakhi would adopt Islamic attire. “Her clothing will be completely in accordance with Islamic and Shariah guidelines, and I might even change my own dressing style,” he added.
