Weather update: Cold temperatures expected across country with snow in hill areas

The majority of Pakistan will experience cold and dry weather today, with mountain areas expected to see significant cold conditions during the night.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, areas such as Murree, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and north-western Balochistan are likely to witness light rain and snowfall on the mountains, Express News reported.

In Islamabad and its surrounding areas, the weather is forecast to remain cold with partly cloudy skies.

The meteorological department further stated that most districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain cold and dry, with the northern districts expecting severe cold temperatures during the night.

Areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Bagram, Shangla, and nearby regions may experience partial cloud cover with occasional light rain and light snowfall.

Punjab's districts are expected to have cold weather with cloudy skies, with some areas like Murree and Galyat receiving light rain and snowfall.

In Sindh, the majority of districts are likely to experience dry weather, while Balochistan will have cold weather, and areas like Quetta, Ziarat, Qilla Abdullah, Chaman, Pishin, and surrounding areas may experience gusty winds along with light rain and snowfall on the mountains.

The Kashmir region is expected to see cold weather with partly cloudy skies, while light rain and snow are also anticipated in some parts of Gilgit-Baltistan.
