The FIA Cyber Crime Wing rounded up these people during a raid in Rawalpindi. The FIA team was assisted by officials of the PTA.

According to the FIA spokesperson, the accused sold the SIM cards through social media. These SIM cards, he said, were used in illegal activities including kidnapping for ransom, extortion and online scams.

The accused were identified as Muhammad Mudassir, Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Zakaria, Syed Noor and Wajih Mahmood.

During the raid, the FIA confiscated from their custody 335 SIM cards and five mobile phones.

The FIA has initiated investigation from the accused. The agency is also carrying out more raids to arrest their accomplices, the spokesperson added.
