WhatsApp introduces themed chat bubbles and expanded customisation options

Users can personalise chats with custom colors, wallpapers, and theme options rolling out globally.

WhatsApp is introducing a range of new customisation features, including themed chat bubbles, custom colors, and a variety of new wallpapers.

A recent blog post confirms that the update is rolling out now and will be available worldwide in the coming weeks.

Users can choose from 30 new wallpaper options, many of which come with preset themes that automatically adjust chat bubble and text colors.

This update allows for greater personalization, making it easier to distinguish important conversations at a glance. The themes you set are visible only to you and can also be applied to your channels. You can either apply a theme across all your chats or customize individual conversations to make them stand out.

For those who prefer detailed control, WhatsApp allows manual adjustments, including separate colors for sent and received chat bubbles, text color customization, and the option to set any image as a wallpaper.

Once the feature is available, you can change the theme for all chats and channels by navigating to Settings > Chats > Default Chat Theme. To customise a specific chat or channel, open it, tap the chat name or the triple-dot menu, and select Chat Theme from the opitons.
