During the event at Radio City Music Hall, host Jimmy Fallon clarified that the concert would feature musical performances but no awards.
“Apparently, there’s been some confusion,” Fallon quipped. “This is just a concert. We’re not giving out any awards tonight.”
As he said this, Hanks and Wilson were seen dramatically leaving the venue, prompting laughter from the audience. The comedic moment quickly went viral, with fans praising the couple’s playful spirit.
The concert, celebrating 50 years of Saturday Night Live, featured performances by major artists, including Arcade Fire, Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Post Malone.
The anniversary celebrations continue with SNL50: The Anniversary Special, airing Sunday, February 16, on NBC and Peacock.
