Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman has urged all members of the provincial assembly to actively participate in the pre-budget session.
Speaking to the media outside the Punjab Assembly, he said the members' suggestions would be considered while finalising the provincial budget for 2025-6 to effectively address public issues at the grassroots.
He highlighted that the pre-budget session had been under way for the past three days, providing the assembly members the opportunity to present their recommendations in both verbal and written forms.
The finance department has also distributed a questionnaire among all members to solicit their proposals.
The exercise is aimed to conduct a structured survey to collect legislators' proposals, allow them to express their views on the budget, and enable the government to gain insights into the needs, issues and priorities of their constituencies, he added. He said the members were given full opportunity to share their proposals and opinions with the finance minister, either on the assembly floor or in his chamber.
