Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium set for ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after renovations
Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is set to host three matches of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, including key fixtures involving Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that major renovations at the venue are nearing completion ahead of the tournament, set to begin on February 19.

The stadium, with a capacity of 15,000, will be one of three local venues for the Champions Trophy, alongside Lahore and Karachi. The Indian cricket team will play its matches in Dubai.
The following group stage matches are scheduled in Rawalpindi:
- February 24: Bangladesh vs. New Zealand (2:00 PM PST)
- February 25: Australia vs. South Africa (2:00 PM PST)
- February 27: Pakistan vs. Bangladesh (2:00 PM PST)
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi visited the venue to inspect the upgrades, including improvements to the main pavilion, media boxes, and VIP enclosures.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress, stating that preparations for the first ICC tournament in Pakistan since 1996 were on track.
Security measures were also reviewed to ensure a safe environment for players and fans.
