The ICC Champions Trophy has seen many iconic performances, but over the years, some players have also set unwanted records.
One such unwanted record is the most ducks scored in the tournament's history, held by Australia’s former all-rounder Shane Watson.
Watson, who played 15 innings in the competition, was dismissed without scoring four times, the most by any player in the tournament’s history.
Bangladesh’s former captain Habibul Bashar follows with three ducks in just five innings. New Zealand’s Nathan Astle also recorded three ducks in 15 innings, while Pakistan’s former skipper Shoaib Malik had three ducks in 18 innings.
Sri Lanka’s legendary all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya also faced a similar fate, with three ducks in 20 innings.
Most Ducks in ICC Champions Trophy:
- Shane Watson (Australia) – 4 ducks
- Habibul Bashar (Bangladesh) – 3 ducks
- Nathan Astle (New Zealand) – 3 ducks
- Shoaib Malik (Pakistan) – 3 ducks
- Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka) – 3 ducks
While these players have made significant contributions to their teams, this record remains an unfortunate footnote in their Champions Trophy careers.
