KARACHI:

DIG Traffic Ahmed Nawaz has assured that effective measures will be taken to ensure the uninterrupted transportation of raw materials and export goods in the North Karachi industrial area.

He stated that all-out efforts would be made to control the build-up of heavy vehicular traffic to sustain industrial activities and promote economic growth.

He gave this assurance to industrialists of the North Karachi Association of Trade & Industry (NKATI) during a meeting held at the NKATI office to address traffic-related concerns.

NKATI leaders highlighted the growing traffic issues, including rising congestion and increasing encroachments along the roads. They stated that the overwhelming presence of encroachments was causing difficulties for industrialists in the transportation of imported and exported goods. They urged the police officer to take strict and immediate action to remove these encroachments.

Meanwhile, businesspeople and commuters frequently complain that, instead of managing traffic congestion, traffic police officers are more focused on collecting bribes from drivers while ignoring serious traffic violations.
