Kodak Black responds to Ye expressing concern for his well-being after a viral video sparked attention.

In a recent statement, Kodak, whose real name is Bill Kahan Kapri, praised Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, for his loyalty and support. Kodak said, “Kanye a real one. You know why he a real one? Kanye the only n*gga who still f*ck with Diddy… I’m pretty sure the feds gon' probably like seize all that boy accounts. Kanye just did some real sh*t. You know what, I’mma do a collab with you, so bro can get some money and sh*t still.”

Ye, 47, was moved by a video featuring Kodak, 27, that went viral on social media. The clip showed Kodak sitting in the middle of a road, eating chicken, while wearing a chain from Ye’s ‘DONDA’ collection. Ye interpreted the scene as a symbolic gesture and felt compelled to reach out to Kodak, possibly offering mentorship.

Kodak Black has long respected Ye. In a 2023 'Drink Champs' interview, Kodak shared his admiration, saying he felt he could mentor Ye, which he believed would be beneficial for both of them. The two artists previously collaborated on the track 'Field Trip' from Ye's 'Vultures 2' album, released in August 2024.
