President Zardari visits Lisbon to pay tribute to late Aga Khan IV

The president expressed hope that Prince Rahim would continue his father's mission of serving humanity

President Asif Ali Zardari met with Prince Rahim Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, in Lisbon to express condolences over the passing of his father, Prince Karim Aga Khan.

During the meeting, President Zardari conveyed heartfelt sympathy on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan. "The entire nation is mourning the loss of a true friend and a great humanitarian," he said, recalling his personal connection with the late Aga Khan. "His passing has left a deep void."

The president also praised the late Aga Khan's contributions to Pakistan's social and economic development, noting that his visionary leadership had improved lives in Pakistan and around the world. "Aga Khan’s lifelong commitment to humanitarian work will always be remembered," Zardari added.

President Zardari shared that he received the news of Aga Khan's death during an official visit to China and expressed his intention to visit Lisbon to pay tribute to the late Aga Khan’s life of service. "His dedication to humanity will forever be honoured," he said.

The president expressed hope that Prince Rahim would continue his father's mission of serving humanity.
