Barcelona cut Real Madrid’s lead at the top of La Liga to two points with a 4-1 win over Sevilla, despite Fermin Lopez receiving a red card in a dramatic second half.
Lopez, introduced at half-time, scored with his first touch before being sent off for a high challenge on Djibril Sow following a VAR review.
Robert Lewandowski put Barcelona ahead in the seventh minute, converting Inigo Martinez’s header.
Ruben Vargas equalised a minute later after a pass from former Barcelona midfielder Saul Niguez.
Lopez restored Barcelona’s lead with a header before Sevilla had a goal disallowed for offside.
Raphinha extended the advantage with a long-range strike, and Eric Garcia sealed the victory with a late header.
Barcelona capitalised on Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid’s 1-1 draw.
Up next, they host Rayo Vallecano on 17 February, while Sevilla visit Valladolid on 16 February.
