“I just don't think he should do a diss record on a big stage like that," Charlamagne explained. "I wouldn't do it.” The radio personality has been vocal about this viewpoint for some time, stating that he would avoid performing tracks that target other artists at such a significant event.

While the song, which includes pointed jabs at various figures in the industry, has earned Kendrick accolades, Charlamagne suggests that it could be divisive.

He added, "I just wouldn't be up there mentioning all them other people during my time like that." His advice? “Do the horns and the hook” — referring to the instrumental elements of the song, which he believes would create a better atmosphere for the occasion.

Despite Charlamagne’s objections, rumors suggest that “Not Like Us” may still make it to the setlist. TMZ reported earlier this week that Kendrick, in collaboration with the NFL and FOX, is planning to perform the track during the Super Bowl show.

In fact, some of Kendrick's fans are eager for the performance of this song, which could be seen as a powerful moment for Lamar, furthering his reputation for fearlessness on the mic.

Charlamagne isn’t alone in thinking that Kendrick should skip the diss track, as legendary rapper Too Short also weighed in. In a conversation with TMZ, he echoed Charlamagne’s sentiment, saying, "If I was him I wouldn't do it. That's more of a jab than doing it." Too Short believes that the message might be unnecessary for such a massive, widely televised event.
