In one of the most unexpected and exciting pairings of the year, Timothée Chalamet and Kendrick Lamar shared an intimate and candid interview ahead of the rapper’s highly anticipated Super Bowl Halftime performance.
The two connected for a two-part interview released by the NFL, where they discussed the similarities in their careers while cruising around in a GNX, the car Lamar named after his surprise 2024 album.
In part two of the interview, which premiered on Lamar's pgLang YouTube channel, Chalamet passionately rapped Kendrick Lamar's "The Heart Pt. II" word for word. "That was one of my favorites, 'Pt. II'," Lamar said, to which Chalamet responded, "'Pt. II' is like you're at the Olympics, bro."
The two then began to mimic the song's chorus and proceeded to rap the track together, with Lamar grinning as he heard Chalamet go bar-for-bar with him on the second part of his "Heart" series, which first appeared on his 2010 breakout mixtape Overly Dedicated.
"I love that shit, bro," Chalamet exclaimed, showing his admiration for the iconic track. The actor is currently enjoying a wave of press attention following his starring role in the upcoming Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown. He's also been spotted in some stylish outfits during the film's press tour and even made headlines for his SNL appearance, where he both hosted and performed some of Dylan’s songs.
Meanwhile, Lamar is preparing for his much-anticipated performance at the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 9. While the details of his set remain a mystery, predictions and excitement continue to swirl around what surprises he has in store for the halftime show.
