Lahore and several districts across Punjab are set to experience a shift in weather, as cold and cloudy conditions take over.
The Meteorological Department has forecast cloudy skies for Lahore and many other regions in Punjab over the next two days.
In Lahore, the minimum temperature has dropped to 8°C, while the maximum is expected to reach 24°C.
According to the weather forecast, the cloudy weather will persist throughout the day, with some districts, including Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, and Pothohar Division, likely to experience light rain.
However, the chances of heavy rainfall in Lahore and other districts remain low, with the weather primarily expected to be overcast. The Met Department has confirmed that the cloudy weather will continue through today and tomorrow, offering a brief respite from the usual winter chill.
The forecast brings a sense of joy for residents who enjoy the cooler, cloudier days of winter.
Yesterday, the Meteorological Departmen (PMD) said that Punjab will continue to experience dry weather, characterised by hot days and cool nights, for the next two to three days.
In cities like Lahore, morning fog is decreasing, and nights are becoming clearer.
Due to the ongoing dry spell, the intensity of heat during the day has increased, while the nights remain relatively cooler.
The minimum temperature recorded in Lahore this morning was 7°C, with a maximum of 24°C expected.
Other areas in Punjab are experiencing similar dry conditions, with no significant changes predicted in the immediate future.
Meanwhile, across the country, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most regions during the next twelve hours.
However, light rain, wind, or thunderstorm with light snow over hills is forecasted for isolated places in Kashmir, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
In terms of temperatures recorded this morning, major cities reported the following: Islamabad and Gilgit at 4°C, Karachi at 13°C, Peshawar at 7°C, Quetta at -2°C, Murree at 1°C, and Muzaffarabad at 6°C.
As for the weather in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy skies with light rain and snow are expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula, while Jammu will experience partly cloudy and cold conditions.
