Years after Kanye West encouraged Kim Kardashian to “break the internet” with a naked Paper Magazine cover, he tried to replicate the stunt by persuading his wife Bianca Censori to wear a sheer minidress at the Grammys red carpet, revealing almost everything.
Friends of West revealed to The Post that the 47-year-old rapper wanted to create the same buzz Kardashian did when she posed for the November 2014 Paper cover with the tagline, “Break the internet with Kim Kardashian.”
“He wanted to go viral again,” said a close associate who has spoken with him recently about the latest incident, reported by New York Post.
“And he knew the best way to do it was to have Bianca be naked. She didn’t love the idea at first, but it’s all about what he wants.”
Censori appeared nervous about exposing herself in such a public setting; a body language expert noted that she showed signs of “fear” on the red carpet.
However, Kardashian was unafraid when she posed naked in 2014. While her decision shocked the producers of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, they felt the nudity wasn’t necessary. By then, Kardashian was already a well-known A-lister and a mother to North West.
“We were against the spread, because why did she need to do that?” said a producer from the reality show. “I know how she became famous, but there comes a point where A-listers don’t pose naked.”
“You don’t see Mariska Hargitay posing naked,” the producer added, referring to the *Law & Order: SVU* star. “You don’t see Julia Roberts or Gwyneth Paltrow naked. Because they’re above that.”
“Getting naked for a magazine that — let’s face it, most people had never heard of — was not what a leading lady should do. No one wanted her to do it — but Kanye. She wouldn’t have done it if it weren’t for him.”
Following their divorce, Kardashian opened up about how West had micromanaged her wardrobe, often pressuring her into wearing clothes she didn’t want to.
“I got to a point where I would ask him for advice for everything — down to what I wear,” she admitted on a 2022 KUWTK episode. “Even now I’m having panic attacks like, what do I wear?”
One time, when West didn’t like a dress Kardashian wore, he went on a tirade, telling her her career was over and mocking her look by showing her a picture of Marge Simpson in a similar outfit.
Despite Kardashian’s wealth and powerful family connections, she often deferred to West on her wardrobe choices, even while filming for *KUWTK*.
