The Benazirabad district police on Wednesday arrested a man for slapping a polio worker while denying immunisation of a child in his home.
SSP Tanveer Hussain Tunio informed that the police arrested Shahzad who misbehaved with the polio workers while slapping one of them. The incident happened in Old Nawabshah Town. Incidents of violence and harassment against polio workers are common in Sindh.
A female polio worker was intimidated while on duty on December 18 in Karachi. The worker was administering polio drops in the government-owned KDA Flats when a man, identified as Faiq, appeared in front of her without clothes. The polio worker immediately reported the incident to her officers as well as to police helpline Madadgar 15. Faiq was arrested, and a case was registered against him at the Surjani Town police station.
