Shaheen Afridi celebrates two years of marital union

Pakistani cricketer Shaheen Afridi took to Instagram to celebrate his second wedding anniversary with wife Ansha Afridi. "Hard to believe it's been two years already with you. I had never imagined the depth of love and connection I could share with anyone until you made it possible," he penned in a grid post featuring a heartwarming photo with Ansha.

"Thank you for making our lives beautiful. Aliyaar and I will forever be grateful. Happy anniversary - my love, my best friend, my soulmate! Here is to many more, Inshaa'Allah," Shaheen wrote.

Shaheen married the daughter of former cricketer Shahid Afridi in 2023. Sharing a back capture from the Baraat ceremony, Shahid took to Instagram in September that year to share his sentiments. "It seems just like yesterday that a light came into my home and now that same light is departing in front of my eyes. Your father's heart is drowning, but hope will come with the morning light," he wrote.

The wedding was a star-studded event, which was attended by fellow cricketer Babar Azam, as well as other prominent personalities and Pakistani celebrities.

Shaista Lodhi and Javeria Saud were among those in attendance at the event, alongside broadcaster Sawera Pasha. Pakistani mega stars Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, and Fahad Mustafa were also present at the event. Actors Aijaz Aslam and Junaid Khan were also spotted taking selfies and pictures with the groom on stage.

The couple announced the birth of their baby boy Aliyaar in August 2024. The family shared the news through the official Pakistan Cricket Board WhatsApp group on Saturday. Word spread almost immediately, with messages of congratulations for the first-time parents flowing in thick and fast. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem were among those to wish Shaheen and Ansha well.
