Posters featuring Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir have emerged across Srinagar and other areas of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), expressing gratitude to Pakistan.
According to Kashmir Media Service, as Pakistan prepares to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on Wednesday, similar posters have surfaced across various parts of the region under Indian control.
The posters prominently feature the slogan "Thank You, Pakistan" alongside the green and white crescent-and-star flag, acknowledging Pakistan’s consistent support for the Kashmiri cause on international platforms.
Kashmir Solidarity Day has been observed every year since 1990, with rallies and events held in Pakistan and across the world to highlight Kashmir’s struggle against Indian occupation.
The posters in IIOJK reflect a continuation of this spirit, as Kashmiris reiterate their demand for self-determination and freedom from Indian rule.
The placement of such posters in a heavily restricted and militarized region like Srinagar is seen as a bold move, symbolising the resilience of the Kashmiri people in their ongoing struggle.
Despite decades of Indian control, Kashmiris continue to raise their voices against New Delhi’s policies and assert their right to self-determination.
Pakistan has long advocated for Kashmir’s right to self-determination and has raised the issue on multiple international forums, a stance that resonates with many in the region.
