Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah chaired a meeting of the Business Facilitation Coordination Committee (BFCC) to address industrialists' concerns and find mutually agreed-upon solutions.
The meeting, held at the CM House, was attended by key provincial ministers, government officials, and representatives from the business community, including FPCCI, KCCI, and SITE Association leaders. Shah welcomed industrialists and assured them that their concerns would be prioritised, with provincial matters addressed locally and federal issues tackled collectively.
He emphasised that the meeting's purpose was to gather business community input to guide decision-making.
To streamline issue resolution, the CM announced the establishment of a special desk at the Commissioner's Office to handle problems related to water, drainage, and encroachments. Industrialists highlighted challenges such as electricity fluctuations, water shortages, and gas supply disruptions, stressing that industrial growth depends on resolving these issues. In response, the CM pledged action, stating that the energy department would work with K-Electric (KE) to provide industrial areas with reliable power and gas solutions. Addressing taxation concerns, business leaders urged the reduction of 29 local levies. The CM directed the chief secretary to review the issue, announcing a follow-up meeting with Karachi's mayor and industrial representatives.
To institutionalise problem-solving, the CM announced the formation of multiple committees.
