The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed the first-ever female operations manager for the national men’s cricket team.

According to media reports, Hina Munawar, an experienced police officer with a strong background in operations and security, has been named the manager of the Pakistan men’s team ahead of the Champions Trophy.

Hina, who has extensive experience serving in the Frontier Constabulary in Swat, will manage the upcoming Champions Trophy and the tri-series involving Pakistan, which will begin in Karachi on 19 February.

After successfully completing the Civil Superior Services (CSS) examination, Hina Munawar has served in various security and law enforcement roles.

Hina was also appointed the Pakistan Women’s Under-19 squad manager for the Asia Cup.

Since Hina Munawar remains a serving officer in the Pakistan Police Service, it is believed that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi brought her into the board on deputation.

As part of her responsibilities, Hina Munawar will oversee team operations during both the Champions Trophy and the Tri-Nation Series, which is set to begin in Karachi on 19 February.

While veteran bureaucrat Naveed Akram Cheema remains the official team manager, Hina Munawar’s role will focus on streamlining communication between players and the board and enhancing the team's operational structure.
